Darrel E. Brown, 75, of Vandalia, died on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019, at his residence.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Nov. 24, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia. Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 25, beginning at 11 a.m. at Unity Baptist Church in Vandalia with Pastor Robert Weaver officiating. An additional visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services. Burial will follow at Ramsey Cemetery.
Mr. Brown was born Sept. 11, 1944, in Vera, to Nova L. "Deacon" and Bessie Mae (Hunter) Brown. He married Ruth Ann Skinner on Dec. 22, 1963, in Ramsey, and she survives.
A U.S. Army veteran, he worked as a district sales manager for Garst Seed Co. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Vandalia.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Brown is survived by a son, Michael (Kathy) Brown of Gainsville, GA; daughter, Angela (Matt) Reeter of Vandalia; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one on the way; and his sister, Donna Slaughter of Maryville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Darren Brown; infant daughter, Dawn Brown; and brother, Lawrence Brown.
