Darrell Lee Johnson, 83, of Litchfield, died on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, at 2:50 a.m. at Carlinville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Cremation rites will be accorded. No services will be held. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is assisting the family.
Mr. Johnson was born June 24, 1937, to Vergil and Nellie Irene (McNichols) Johnson. He married Annabelle Ramel on March 31, 1961, in Chesterfield, and she survives.
He graduated from Osceola High School in Iowa with the class of 1956. He later went on to Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, MO, where he studied Christian education and earned his bachelor’s degree.
Mr. Johnson was a computer programmer with Scripture Press, later known as David C. Cook Publications, where he worked for 30 years until his retirement.
In his younger years, he enjoyed playing basketball and bowling. He enjoyed watching football and other sports.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Johnson is survived by his son, David Johnson of Wheaton; and sister, Marjorie (Dale) Kruse of Osceola, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Keith Johnson.
