David “Dave” Allan Jones, 66, of Litchfield, died on Monday, Sept. 18, 2023, at Bria of Mascoutah Nursing Home in Mascoutah.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is assisting the family with arrangements.
He was born Dec. 11, 1956, in Litchfield, the son of the late Donald L. and Betty L. (Wright) Jones. He was a graduate of Litchfield High School with the class of 1975.
Mr. Jones was a roofer for the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers Local 112 in Springfield. He enjoyed raising horses in his earlier years, along with drag boat racing, boating, enjoying a wide variety of music, cheering on the Florida Gators football team and spending time with his friends and family. His final months were spent accepting Jesus with his son and daughter-in-law by his side.
He is survived by his son Adam (Becky) Jones of St. Jacob; sister Donna (Deck) Major of Litchfield; and nephews Bryan (Andrea) Jenkins of South Lyon, MI and Kyle (Brittany) Jenkins of Edwardsville.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents.
