David W. Reynolds, 74, of Hillsboro, died on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at 1:50 a.m. at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Jay Martin, pastor of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church in Witt, officiating. Burial will take place in Nokomis Cemetery.

Mr. Reynolds was born Dec. 21, 1944, in Hillsboro, to Clarence and Edna Pauline (Brown) Reynolds. He married Judy Durston on July 6, 1968, at the Witt Presbyterian Church, and she survives.

A lifetime Hillsboro resident, he graduated from Hillsboro High School with the class of 1965 and furthered his education at SAMS Technical School for Design in Indiana.

During his career, Mr. Reynolds worked at Hurst and Rosche in Hillsboro, Consolidated Coal in Coffeen and was a geometric technician for the Illinois Department of Transportation.

He was a member of the Montgomery County Amateurs Radio Club; Litchfield Bass Club; Gillespie Bass Club; Paralyzed Veterans of America, Vaughn Chapter in Chicago; and fished competitively in the Midwest Bass Association and Guys and Gals World Bass Association.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Reynolds is survived by a son, Shawn (companion Lisa Rensing) Reynolds of Breese; grandson, Wyatt (companion Steph Luttrell) Reynolds of Litchfield; and his brothers and sister, Larry (wife Becky) Reynolds, Tom (wife Sandy) Reynolds and Alice (husband Kelly) Matthews, all of Hillsboro.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
