Dean Lee Bishop, 78, of Litchfield, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026, at Aspen Creek of Troy, in Troy.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Elmwood Cemetery, in Litchfield, with burial to follow. Martha Benning will be officiating.
Mr. Bishop was born July 23, 1948, in Litchfield, a son of Robert Lee Bishop and Arminda (Meece) Bishop. He attended Litchfield High School.  He married Mary Richars on Sept. 27, 1975, in Greenville, and they were married for 50 years.
He was a hardworking man who had many jobs over the years from teamsters truck driver, farmer and even digging graves by hand. He owned and operated Bishop Container Services for over 40 years. After retiring, he worked for Rural King for 15 years. He worked sun up to sun down and always kept busy helping his wife with her flower beds.
Mr. Bishop enjoyed horse shows and even participated in them as a kid. His love for animals went beyond horses and he often helped his neighbors with their animals. He was also a member of the Litchfield Moose Lodge #1634 and Future Farmers of America.
Mr. Bishop is survived by his wife, Mary Bishop of Litchfield; daughter, Amy Arminda (Jamie) Lilley of Litchfield; granddaughter, Shawnee Daughtery; and grandson, Cameron Lilley.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital or Montgomery County Animal Shelter.
