Deborah Marie Farrell, 73, of Witt, died  Friday, Nov. 26, at 6:44 p.m., at Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Visitation was held Sunday, Nov. 28. Other services are pending at this time. Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Farrell was born May 15, 1948 in Taylorville, the daughter of Harold and Marjorie (Snyder) Reynolds. She married Lynn Farrell in Oct. of 1971 in Witt.

She graduated from Witt High School and the University of Illinois where she earned a degree in Physical Education and played basketball, volleyball and field hockey. She worked for the Decatur Park District recreation department where she expanded the Special Olympics in central Illinois. She worked as a teacher with Decatur Public Schools for 22 years. She and her husband built a family dairy farm with show-herd Guernseys, and had a passion for horses, ponies, cows and all kinds of animals.

Mrs. Farrell is survived by a son, Rhett (wife Lana) Farrell; grandchildren Harper and Kash Farrell; brother Kelly (wife Twila) Reynolds; sisters Kristine (husband John) Panieri and Bonnie (husband Lynn) Haines; and brother-in-law Gerald Sommers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lynn; and sister Georgia Sue Sommers.
