Delores Ann Davey, 78, of Sorento died at 12:05 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019 at her residence.
Cremation will be provided and private family ceremonies will be held. The family is being assisted by Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home in Sorento.
Mrs. Davey was born on Feb. 28, 1941, in Mattoon, where she was raised by her grandmother. She married Eugene E. “Gene” Davey in Sorento, and he preceded her in death on June 26, 2008.
A graduate of Mattoon High School with the class of 1959, she worked for many years at Taco John’s and Rural King in Highland. She enjoyed riding horses and spending as much time outdoors as possible.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her grandmother, Berdina Stewart; two sons, Bill and Mark Burroughs; and a brother, Bob Ashby.
She is survived by her sons, Mike (companion Donna File) Burroughs of Sorento and Rick (wife Theresa) Burroughs of Granite City; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Bill Ashby of Arnold, MO, and Peg Morgan of Charleston and several nieces and nephews.
