Dennis Lee Wilson, 76, of Hillsboro died Monday, March 23, 2015, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
A local memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, OK.
Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Wilson was born on June 6, 1938, in Wagoner, OK, the son of the late Buckley Wilson and Marge (Claxton) Allen. He was married to Sherry Trude from 1957 to 1974 and then Sharon Odle from 1980 to 1997. Both survive.
He was a high school graduate and received his associate’s degree in business management. He worked for and was a member of the Iron Workers Labor Local 75 in Phoenix, AZ, as a business agent and then he retired from OSHA as a public speaker on health and safety. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Hillsboro.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his children, Kim Walsh of St. Louis, Denny Wilson, Boyd Wilson, Travis Wilson and Darrin Wilson, all of Tulsa, OK, Ricky Gunderson and Charlie Gunderson, both of Tennessee, and Jimmy Gunderson of Hillsboro; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers.
