Diana Mae Waterman, 80, of Harvel, died on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hough Funeral Home in Raymond. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Asbury Cemetery in Raymond. CDC guidelines will be followed, including social distancing and masks.

Mrs. Waterman was born Sept. 5, 1940, in Mt. Auburn, to Clifford and Jocelyn (Thompson) Montgomery. She married I. Dean Waterman on Aug. 17, 1958, at Harvel Christian Church in Christian County, and he survives.

A farmer and homemaker, she was a wonderful artist, seamstress and quilter. She enjoyed square dancing with the Calico Twirlers, horseback riding with family and friends, and motorcycle riding with her husband.

“Annie” loved Easter and her family gathered around her.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Waterman is survived by her two sons, Ivan (wife Cindy) Waterman, Jr. of Livingston and Joel (wife Connie) Waterman of Mt. Olive; daughter, Jorene (husband Ed) Maedge of Staunton; grandchildren, Hunter Waterman, Parker Smith, both of Staunton, VaNicia Waterman of Peoria, Monte (wife Danielle) Waterman of Raymond, Sanna (husband Scott) Traw of Litchfield, Megan Waterman of Bunker Hill, Kurtis (wife Katherine) Waterman of Arizona and Lucas Smith of Gillespie; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dixie Marie Barker and Dorothy Kay Uhrich; daughter-in-law, the Rev. Patty Waterman; and granddaughter, Sarah Nicole Waterman.
