Diana Sue (Basso) Altevogt, 83, of Irving, died surrounded by her family at 2:52 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026, at Hillsboro Health.

No services are planned for Mrs. Altevogt at this time.

Mrs. Altevogt was born in Panama on July 27, 1943, a daughter of Louis and Delores (Spensberger) Basso. She married Kenneth Lee Altevogt on Nov. 26, 1960, in Taylor Springs. He survives.

She loved being a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, canning and cooking delicious meals for her family, especially when hosting the family for large gatherings. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching deer and attending shows at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis. She was a nurse’s aide at Montgomery Health and Rehab in Taylor Springs, caring for patients at the facility years ago.

In addition to her husband, Kenneth, she is survived by two daughters, Kim (Rick) Kirsch of Kissimmee, FL, and Janelle Wiley of Springfield; three granddaughters, Cheyenne (fiancé Mike Riggs) Altevogt of Mt. Olive, whom Mr. and Mrs. Altevogt raised, Briana (fiancé Alister McDonald) Kramer and Danielle Munos-Bowden; three great-grandsons, Kolby, Benjamin and August; and two sisters, Cynthia Basso and Jamie Denton of Klamath Falls, OR.

Mrs. Altevogt was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Doloris Basso; a daughter, Kari Munos; and a grandson, Larry Golladay.
