Donald Lee "Bud" Warnsing, 78, of Nokomis, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019, at 8:45 a.m. at Nokomis Rehabilitation and Healthcare.

Visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 18, from 5 to 7 p.m at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Mt. Zion Cemetery in rural Nokomis.

Mr. Warnsing was born Nov. 16, 1940, to Helen (Bower) and Wayne Warnsing. He married Rose Amble, and they divorced. He then married Peggy Shults on July 25, 1998, in Putuxent River, MD, and she survives.

A third generation Santa Claus, he graduated from Nashville High School in 1958, and had attended Raymond High School.

He had many associations and interests, including the American Legion Post 94 in Nokomis, Fleet Reserve Association (USN, USMC, USCG) Branch 93, Florida Naval Sailors Association, American Legion Post 79 in New Port Richey, FL, Corvair Society of America in Lamont, Antique Automobile Club of America, Jen's Cruiz-In, North/South Skirmish Association preserving America's heritage.

Mr. Warnsing enjoyed woodworking, bowling, golf, card games and antique cars (mustangs and corvairs).

In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Donald Lee, Jr. of Dubois, PA; grandchildren, James (Erin) Warnsing, Mandy Wright, Kenny Warnsing, Mindy Craig and Meghyn Chandler-Warnsing; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Ann Locklear of Burlington, TX.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James "Jim" Warnsing, and a brother, Carl Martin Warnsing.
