Donald Lee Angle, 83, of Litchfield, died on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at his residence.
A celebration of life will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, June 2, at the Litchfield VFW. Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is charge of arrangements.
Mr. Angle was born Oct. 29, 1939, to George Henry and Leona Mae (Angle) Burge in Litchfield. After graduating from Gillespie High School, he went on serve his country in the United States Navy. He eventually worked as a coal miner, then for Caterpillar, and was a truck driver. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW in Litchfield.
He married Barbara Osborn on May 15, 2011, and she survives, along with children, Shane (Michelle) Angle of Texas, Dustin (Lisa) Angle of Hillsboro, Cammie (Jim) Simpson of Litchfield, and Siearra Glissonof Granite City; 13 grandchildren; one brother Rex (Diane) Burge of Mount Olive; several nieces and nephews; and in-laws John “Buck” Osborn of Witt, Daniel Osborn of Chatham, Brian Osborn of Schram City, Debra “Poss” Beattie of Springfield, MO, and Vicky White of Hillsboro.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gregory Burge; a nephew Brian Burge; and in-laws Mary Osborn, Tim Osborn, and Jeff Osborn.
