Donald Ray Randle, 94, of Olney, formerly of Walshville, died on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020, at 9:03 a.m. at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.

Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, Aug. 29, beginning at 11 a.m. at Sunnyside Cemetery in Sorento with the Rev. Rudy Elam of Walshville Baptist Church officiaing. A private family viewing will be held prior to services. A funeral procession line up at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield will begin at 10:15 a.m. to proceed to the cemetery. Due to CDC guidelines, social distancing rules apply and masks will be required.

Mr. Randle was born Nov. 12, 1925, in Walshville, to Lorenzo “Louis” Ray and Margaret Mae (Hicks) Randle. He married Ethel Mae Jones on Dec. 14, 1946, in Litchfield, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 12, 2007.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, Asiatic-Pacific Theatre, and was recently presented with the Quilt of Valor for his service and sacrifice to our nation.

Mr. Randle was a farmer most of his life. He previously worked for Illinois Lottery and Knox Trucking in Springfield.

He was a member of Walshville Baptist Church and the American Legion Post #436 in Litchfield. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling.

Mr. Randle is survived by his daughter, Ellen (Bob) Tabaka of Olney; two sisters-in-law, Frances Randle and Elaine Randle; grandchildren, Anne (Kevin) Zuber, Nancy (Kyle) Kocher and Ronald J. Randle; great-grandchildren, Tyler Zuber, Blake Zuber, Trevor Zuber, Holden Kocher, Haley Kocher, Hudson Kocher, Mary Randle, Michelle Randle and Lexie Randle; great-great-granddaughter, Baleigh; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Ronald Ray Randle and Dennis Franklin Randle; four brothers, Kenneth Randle, Maurice Randle, Shirley Randle and Charles L. Randle; seven sisters, Pauline Faulkner, Lorene Lay, Lois Payne, Helen Vollintine, Wilma Priddle, Bernice Aikman and Charlotte Titsworth; and two grandchildren, Robert William Tabaka and Steven Ray Tabaka.
