Donald Ray “Grover” Clelland, 64, of Litchfield, died on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021, in his home.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday, Oct. 24, at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Funeral services will start at 3 p.m., at the funeral home, with Rev. Cassie Sexton-Riggs of Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield officiating. Cremation will follow the services, and interment will be at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Clelland was born on Oct. 5, 1957, in Litchfield, a son of James Jameson Clelland, Jr, and Ellen (Watts) Clelland. He graduated from Litchfield High School with the class of 1975. Mr. Clelland then went on to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and received a degree in geography.
He worked at the Defense Mapping Agency in St. Louis, MO. Mr. Clelland had also worked for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and did carpentry work. He was a member of Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, baseball, gardening and attracting birds to his yard.
Mr. Clelland is survived by his mother, Ellen Clelland of Litchfield; brother, David Clelland of Glen Carbon; sisters, Gail (Rick) Piggott of Long Grove and Linda Dyer of Litchfield; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Clelland, Jr.; and brothers, Steve Clelland and James Clelland III.
