Doris E. Fox, 92, of Springfield, formerly of Hillsboro, died on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 9:24 a.m., at her residence.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Hough-Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, officiated by Mark Noyes of Hillsboro. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro from noon to 1 p.m.

Mrs. Fox was born on Nov. 18, 1933, in Coraopolis, PA, the daughter of Harold and Ida Smith. She married Jack L. Fox in Coraopolis, PA on Oct. 31, 1953. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a fantastic cook and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, tole painting, embroidery, gardening and especially crafting with her grandchildren. She sold Avon in Hillsboro and graduated from the Litchfield Beauty Academy and had her own shop in her home. She was a devout Christian and longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church of Hillsboro.

She lived in Metropolis, Hillsboro, Litchfield and Springfield during her lifetime. She was also a member of the Audubon Society in Hillsboro.

Mrs. Fox is survived by her children, George Michael (Catherine) Fox of Longview, WA, Marcia Elaine (Tony) Liebscher of Hillsboro, Steve Allen (Regina) Fox of Charleston and Tami Lynn (Timothy) Lewis of Charleston; grandchildren, Jessica Fox Sorenson, Erik Fox, Carrie McCormick, Nicolo Casarta, Paul Liebscher, Melana Damm, Leslie Taggert, Sarah Grissom, Allison Tharp, Evan Fox, Ashley Obia and Emily Schnabel; fifteen great-grandchildren; two nephews; two nieces; and sister-in-law, Barbara Sue Miller.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack L. Fox; her mother and father; and sisters, Joyce Lighthill and Linda Conwell.

Memorials may be given to Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, Alzheimer’s Association or Bremer Sanctuary in Hillsboro.
