Doris Louise Pickel, 85, of Mt. Zion, died at 11:35 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020, at her residence.
Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11, at Dawson and Wikoff Funeral Home in Mt. Zion. Services will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will at the Mt. Zion Township Cemetery. Dawson and Wikoff Funeral Home in Mt. Zion is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Pickel was born on Oct. 29, 1934, in Coffeen, to Ferdinand and Inez (Schraut) Huber. She married Charles Phillip Pickel on March 3, 1956, he preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 2013. She retired as the book keeping supervisor from Soy Capital Bank.
Mrs. Pickel is survived by her daughters, Pam (Gary) Brueggemann and Teri Schenck, both of Mt. Zion; brothers, Donald (Phyllis) Dean Huber and Ramon Huber, both of Coffeen; sister, Marie Micenheimer of Coffeen; grandchildren, Justin (Natashia) Brueggemann of Oreana, Randi (Tim) Boyle of Algonquin, Chelsea (Marcus) Durand of Mt. Zion and Chaini Schenck of Mt. Zion; great-grandchildren, Grace Durand, Charlie Brueggemann, Gabriel Durand and Adalynn Boyle.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and three brothers.
