Dorothy Evelyn West, 96, of Litchfield, died on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020, at 12:04 a.m. at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Visitation will be held Monday, Oct. 5, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Jason Plumer of First Baptist Church in Litchfield officiating. Burial will be conducted at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield. Due to CDC guidelines, social distancing rules apply and masks will be required.
Mrs. West was born on Feb. 26, 1924, in Litchfield, to Clinton and Lorine (Laurent) Calcott. After graduating, she married George Frederick West on Feb. 28, 1942, in Chicago, and he preceded her in death on June 17, 2003.
She and her husband owned and operated Litchfield Rug and Furniture Cleaners for 38 years.
Mrs. West was a member of First Baptist Church in Litchfield, and was very active with the Zonta Club over the years.
She is survived by her son, Philip (Patty) West of Litchfield; two daughters, Carol Stuttle and Sandra (Brent) Rutherford, both of Litchfield; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. West was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gary West; and sister, Laverne Bullock.
