Dorothy Marie Lewey, 86, of Mountain Home, AR, formerly of Litchfield, died on Jan. 17, 2022, at home surrounded by her loved ones.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 1, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at Elm Lawn Memorial Park in Litchfield. Roller Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Lewey was born on March 20, 1935, in Litchfield, to Viola (Hoog) and Milford M. Kellenberger. In June 1953, she married Ronald “Sonny” Lewey, her husband of 49 years.
Mrs. Lewey was a resident of Mountain Home, AR, for approximately 20 years. She enjoyed the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, fishing with Sonny, sewing and visiting with friends and family. She liked to play pinochle at the senior center. Mrs. Lewey was a volunteer at Baxter Regional Hospital’s bargain box. She was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Mountain Home, AR, and a former member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Litchfield. Mrs. Lewey spent most of her life being a stay at home wife and mother; roles she loved. Her high school class of 1953’s last will and testament states: “I, Dorothy Kellenberger leave for the “Sonny” side of life.”
Mrs. Lewey is survived by her children, Deborah (John) Brest of Lead Hill, MO, Kenneth (Dawn) Lewey of Frisco, TX, Dennis (Cyndi) Lewey of Nokomis and James (Linda) Lewey of Troy; eleven grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.
