Dorothy Rose Gleichman, 93, of Butler, died on Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.
Cremation rites were accorded and memorial graveside services will be held at a later date. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home of Hillsboro is assisting the family.
Mrs. Gleichman was born Oct. 3, 1926, in Donnellson, to Louis "Doc" and Rose Wilhelmina Dockery. She married Theron Anthony "Speck" Gleichman on May 22, 1948, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, and he preceded her in death on April 28, 2003.
She graduated from Hillsboro High School with the class of 1944, and went on to serve as a farmer, gardener, livestock handler and plumbing shop clerk.
During her lifetime, Mrs. Gleichman lived in Donnellson, Hillsboro and Butler.
She is survived by a daughter, Gayle Gleichman of Urbana; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila Callahan on Oct. 11, 2012; and a brother, Louis Dockery.
