Douglas Vickery, 90, of Raymond died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, in the Montgomery Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Hough Funeral Home in Raymond. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 15, at 10 a.m., also at the funeral home, with burial in St. Raymond's Catholic Cemetery in Raymond.

Mr. Vickery was born on Dec. 5, 1921, in Gloversville, NY, a son of the late Albert and Charlotte (Handy) Vickery. He married Mary Todt on April 5, 1945, in Fredericksburg, VA, and she survives in Raymond.

He served in the US Navy from 1942 until 1945 as an Aviation Ordnanceman 1/c (T). During his services he received Air Crew Wings (three Gold Stars), Asiatic Pacific Ribbon (four stars) and Air Medal. He retired in 1987 from the Harvel Locker in Harvel, where he worked as a meat cutter.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, William (wife Pam) Vickery of Raymond; two daughters, Sharon (husband John) Nobbe of Springfield and Constance Brookens of Springfield; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and one grandson.
