Dr. Nick Tex, PhD, 72, of Scottsdale, AZ died on Dec. 28, 2023, with family by his side.
Arrangements were made by Messinger Mortuary of Scottsdale, AZ.
Dr. Tex was born July 3,1951 in Pana, to Cletus Joe and Retta Lucille Tex. He was the eldest of two sons. He married Ann E. Wagner, in 1972, and she followed him in death on Jan. 7, 2024. They were blessed with four sons, three of whom were adopted.
He graduated from Pana High School in 1969, and earned a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from St. Louis College of Pharmacy. He later earned his MBA and PhD from the University of Phoenix. Dr. Tex retired from teaching for Carrington College in 2021.
Along with numerous degrees, the couple owned and operated Tex Family Pharmacy in Litchfield. Dr. Tex was also a world traveler throughout his life, helping those in need with many humanitarian efforts such as the Flying Samaritans.
Dr. Tex is survived by his brother Mike; sons, Tony, Christopher and David; and grandson, Joseph.
Dr. Tex was preceded in death by his parents, Cletus Joe and Retta Lucille Tex; son, Jon; and granddaughter, Charlotte Tex.
