Dwight H. Kleinik, 87, of Vandalia, died Tuesday, July 24, 2018, in Aperion Care in St. Elmo.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 28, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Harry Kirk officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery in Fillmore with military rites.

Mr. Kleinik was born Nov. 1, 1930, in Litchfield, the son of Clarence Harold and Ruby (Merriman) Kleinik. He married Shirley Jane Edwards on July 1, 1956, in Shobonier, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 6, 2005.

A retired truck driver for A&R Trucking in Vandalia, he was an Air Force Veteran. He was a member of Liberty Church in rural Bingham and a member of the Teamsters Union Local 50 in Belleville.

He is survived by his daughters, Becky Taylor of Vandalia, Betty Clinton of Odin and Mary (Keith) Gentry of Olney; four grandchildren, Anna, Jamie, Alex and Daryl; two brothers, Victor (Portia) Kleinik and Dean (Carolyn) Kleinik; sister, Marilyn Torbeck; and companion, Joyce Merriman of Fillmore.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Memorials may be made to Glendale Cemetery in Fillmore.
