Earl Hagerman, 79

Earl William Hagerman, Jr., 79, of Mount Olive, died at 9:50 a.m. on Friday, March 27, 2020, at HSHS St. John's  Hospital in Springfield.

A private family service is being held with a public celebration of life to take place at a later date. Burial will be at Mt. Olive City Cemetery in Mt. Olive. Reverend Tommy Brewer will officiate. Becker and Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Hagerman was born on Feb. 22, 1941, in Litchfield, to  Earl William, Sr., and Antonia (Korunka) Hagerman. He married Sharon Nesbitt on  Sept. 25, 1965, at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Olive.

Mr. Hagerman attended Mt. Olive Public grade school and graduated from Mt. Olive High School with the class of 1959. He was self employed as a contractor/carpenter and owned Quality Builders (ECA) and Quality Rental.

Mr. Hagerman was enlisted in the US National Guard from 1962 to1968. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Olive, where he was baptized and confirmed. Mr. Hagerman was a lifetime member of Mt. Moriah Lodge #51 and was a volunteer fireman with the Mt. Olive Fire Department.

In his spare time, he loved playing  Poley at Turner Hall, he especially loved playing with his grandchildren. Mr. Hagerman enjoyed traveling and the fellowship of family and friends. His sense of humor was enjoyed by many.

Mr. Hagerman is survived by his wife; daughter,  Leslie (Dan) Pate of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Brooklyn  and Hudson Pate of St. Louis, MO; and sister, Velma Conlon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Fred Danneman.
