Earl L. Stauder, 85, of Alton, formerly of Witt, died at 4:15 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, in Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Alton.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 13, in Gent Funeral Home in Alton, with burial in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Mr. Stauder was born in 1925 in Witt, a son of Lawrence and Marie Stauder. He married Heidi Augue on Nov. 22, 1944, and she survives.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a barber for more than 30 years in downtown Alton.
Along with his wife, Mr. Stauder is survived by two sons, David (wife Judith) Stauder of Malvern, OH, and Michael Stauder of Godfrey; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
