Earl R. McCormick, 70, of Greenville, died on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2019, at HSHS Holy Family Hospital in Greenville.

A visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 23, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro. A graveside service will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Mulberry Grove, with military rites conducted by Mulberry Grove American Legion.

Mr. McCormick was born Nov. 2, 1949, in Carrollton, to James and Clara Viola (Cummings) McCormick. He married Deborah Snow on July 4, 1970, and she survives.

He graduated from Mulberry Grove High School in 1967, and served his country in the U.S. Marines. He obtained his associate degree in agriculture mechanics from Wabash Valley College in Mount Carmel.

A lifelong farmer, Mr. McCormick worked as maintenance for the Coffeen Power Plant. He served the local AMVETS, and enjoyed horseback riding and raccoon hunting.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael (Brandy) McCormick of Greenville and Nathan (Kari) McCormick of Coffeen; four grandsons, Gavin Heard, Michael "Jimmy" McCormick, Zachary McCormick and Noah McCormick; siblings, Marcia Schmollinger, Linda Sessions, Audrey Kaiser, Donna Nicholas, Darrell McCormick and Lonnie McCormick; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. McCormick was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Kenny McCormick.

Memorials may be directed to Borlin Cemetery in Eldred, Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Carrollton or an FFA chapter of the donor's choice.
