The Montgomery County Clerk's office announces that applications for vote by mail may now be requested for the Tuesday, March 17, 2020 General Primary Election. Voters may also vote early in person at the Historic Courthouse in Hillsboro.
Illinois law for voting early or voting by mail requires the voter to be an eligible Montgomery County registered voter. To vote early, voters may go to the Early Voting Room in the basement of the Historic Courthouse in Hillsboro and vote in person.
To vote by mail, voters may either visit the county website at www.montgomeryco.com and download the Vote By Mail request form, complete, sign and mail it to the County Clerk's office, or call the County Clerk's office at 217-532-9530 to receive a vote by mail ballot application.
All applications for vote by mail ballots must be received in the office by Thursday, March 12. Voters may vote early in person at the Montgomery County Clerk's Early Voting Room in the Historic Courthouse basement now through Monday, March 16.
For voter's convenience, the County Clerk's Early Voting Room will be open on Saturdays, Feb. 29, March 7, and March 14, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. for early voting services. Weekday hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding Presidents' Day on Feb. 17.
