Edith Augusta (Posthuma) Bedinghaus, 93, of Farmersville, died on Friday, Feb. 12, 2021, at Carlinville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 18, from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Farmersville. Funeral Mass will follow, beginning at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be held at St. Martin’s Catholic Cemetery in Farmersville. CDC guidelines will be followed, including social distancing and masks. Hough Funeral Home in Farmersville is assisting the family.

Mrs. Bedinghaus was born Feb. 12, 1928, in Blue Island, to Joseph and Augusta Edith (Goetz) Posthuma. She married William F. Bedinghaus on May 7, 1955, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 2021.

She, along with her husband, was a farmer, as well as a homemaker, working on the family farm, where they raised their family.

Mrs. Bedinghaus is survived by her sons, Mark (wife Ruth) Bedinghaus of Palmyra, Anthony (companion Susan Jennings) Bedinghaus of Monee, Jacqueline (husband Bernie) Riddle of Springfield, Deborah (husband Dave) Waggoner of Waggoner and Theresa (husband John) Bomar of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Adam and Joy, Seth, Andrea, Kyle, Erika, Lucas, Brandon and Lindsay, Dane and Katie, Carly and Scott, Cassandra, Amanda and Richard, and Robert; seven great-grandchildren; and siblings, Lawrence Posthuma and Patricia (husband Ray) Loar, both of New Lenox.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Mary Muscato and Betty Pitluck.

Memorials may be directed to St. Martin’s Catholic Cemetery in Farmersville.
