Edna Emma Nora Benning, 101, of Raymond, died on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at Hillsboro Area Hospital surrounded by her family.
Private funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church with burial at Asbury Cemetery in Raymond. A public Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Hough Funeral Home in Raymond is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Benning was born June 3, 1918, in Rountree, the daughter of Albert and Mary Gerhards Keiser. She married Frank William Benning on June 21, 1936, he preceded her in death on March 8, 2008.
Mrs. Benning was a farm wife and homemaker. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Harvel and a member of the Ladies Aid there. She was also a member of the Senior Achievers, the Montgomery County Senior Citizens, Home Arts and Quilters Club.
Mrs. Benning is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Wathern of Raymond; daughter-in-law, Marti Benning of Raymond; son-in-law, Charlie Korunka of Benld; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Wilma Korunka; son, Darrell Benning; one great-great-granddaughter; and siblings, Elsie Meiners, Christina Meiners, Alberta Zupanci, John Keiser and Alfred Keiser.
