Edward 'Ed' Kimbro, 72

Edward “Ed” Kimbro, 72, of Highland, formerly of Taylor Springs, died March 26, 2019, at Highland Health Care Center in Highland.

Memorial services will be held Friday, April 26, at 11 a.m. at Montgomery Cemetery north of Hillsboro. Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kimbro was born March 14, 1947, in Hartford to George and Lucille (Watkins) Kimbro. He married Suzanne Marquardt, and they later divorced. He then married Shirley Kimbro in 1975, and she preceded him in death in 2001.

An over-the-road truck driver, Mr. Kimbro also worked at American Steel Foundries in Granite City. He was a past member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro.

Mr. Kimbro is survived by one daughter,  April (Kimbro) Clayton of Pocahontas; one son, Robert “Bobby” Kimbro of Pocahontas; two grandchildren, Sheryl Sharp and Kyle Clayton; one great-grandchild, Jaime Sharp; five siblings, Dorothy Malcom, Virginia Ford, Alice Grimm, Ida Ford and Alberta Gale.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Edward Kimbro, Jr.; one daughter, Sheryl Ann Kimbro; and three brothers, Orin and Allan Kimbro, and Art Malcom.
