Edward Wayne Ruble, 83, of Keyesport, died at home Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025, peacefully surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, at the Vera Baptist Church in Vera. Visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 10 a.m. Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville is in charge of arrangements. A lunch will follow the service in the church dining hall for those attending.
Mr. Ruble was born on April 16, 1942, at home in Vienna, the son of John Freeman and Mary Frances (Kincade) Ruble. He graduated from Eisenhower High School in Blue Island in 1960.
Mr. Ruble was married to Dixie L. Wetherell from 1960 to 1964. They had a daughter, Donna Jean. He married Patricia L. (Berry) Edmondson in 1969. She brought a daughter, Deneen Frances, to the marriage. The couple had Eric Wayne, Shane Patrick, and Shelly Evon. In 1979 they welcomed Dustin Micheal into the family.
Mr. Ruble was preceded in death by his parents, John Freeman and Mary Frances Ruble; brothers, Richard John Ruble and Robert Lewis Ruble; grandson, Ethan Noble Crisman; and best friend, Bill McCarty.
Mr. Ruble is survived by his children, Donna J. Ruble of Keyesport, Deneen (Rick) Camp of Calhoun, GA, Eric (Lisa) Ruble of Greenville, Shane Ruble of St. Louis, MO, Shelly (Darin) Crisman Shook of Keyesport and Dustin Ruble of Keyesport;sister, JoAnn (Ruble) Mathis of Lathrop, CA; grandchildren, Mark Ruble, Dena Higgins, Dalton Crisman, Haele Goodin, Zachary Ruble, Audrey Clasby, Chase Ruble, Mia Ruble, Michael Shook, Justin Hague and Cheyanne Hague; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
