Funeral services for Elda Sophia Prange, 75, of Litchfield will be held Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 11 a.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church in Mt. Olive. The Rev. Ben Fiore will officiate, and burial will be in Mt. Olive City Cemetery. Visitation is tonight, Monday, Oct. 27, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Becker and Sons Funeral Home in Mt. Olive.

Mrs. Prange died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at 9:02 a.m. in Heritage Manor of Litchfield. She was born on June 18, 1933, in Mt. Olive Township to Robert and Sophia (DeVries) Niehaus.

She married Erhardt John Prange on Aug. 12, 1951, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Mt. Olive; he survives. She was also baptized and confirmed at the same church by the Rev. Hofhenke. A lifetime member there, she played the organ and sang in the choir.

Also surviving are one son, Robert (wife JoAnne) Niehaus of Oregon, WI; two daughters, Barbara (husband Mark) Hollo of Taylorsville, NC, and Brenda (husband Charles) Croxton of Bloomington; six grandchildren, Kimberly and Kevin Prange, Robert (wife Erin) Hollo, Scott Hollo, and Michael and Matthew Croxton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Minnie Mindrup; and two brothers, Robert and Elmer Niehaus.

From 1974 until her retirement in 1994 she worked as a clerk at St. Francis Hospital, Litchfield. A 1951 graduate of Mt. Olive High School, she had attended Zion Lutheran German School. She also helped her husband on the family farm.

The family suggests memorials be directed to the Zion Lutheran Church of Mt. Olive.
