Eloyious Margaret (Bailey) Kinder, 91, of Sioux Center, IA, died on Sunday, May 10, 2020, at Royale Meadows Care Center in Sioux Center, IA.

Interment will be held in Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield on Friday, May 15. The family will gather for a memorial service at a later date in Litchfield. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is assisting the family.

Mrs. Kinder was born May 18, 1928, in Hillsboro, to Vora Robert and Frieda Ferne (Carriker) Bailey. She married Clarence Ray Kinder on Aug. 10, 1951, at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, and he preceded her in death.

She graduated from Hillsboro High School with the class of 1946. During her married life, she and her husband lived in Litchfield, Granite City and Godfrey. In Godfrey, they were members of Godfrey First United Methodist Church. She moved to Sioux Center in 2016. 

Mrs. Kinder was a telephone operator for many years in Hillsboro and Litchfield, and served as switchboard receptionist for Consolidated Freightways in St. Louis, MO.

She was dedicated to supporting the work of the gospel of Christ in her local church and around the world, and served as church treasurer. She traveled extensively with her husband, spent time with her family and enjoyed playing Scrabble and keeping a journal.

Mrs. Kinder is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Randy Widbin of Sioux Center, IA; granddaughter and her husband, Kelly (Widbin) and Peter Freeburg of Portland, OR; grandson, Lucas (wife Danae) Widbin of New Brighton, MN; great-grandchildren, Paelyn Rae and Lyla Margaret of Portland, OR, and Eloise Joanna and Clara Scottie of New Brighton, MN; sister-in-law, Sue Bailey; and nephews, Adam Bailey and James Bailey, Jr.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, James Bailey.
