Elsie Faye Nowlan, 78, of Coffeen, died at 9:56 a.m., on  Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021, at Hillsboro Area Hospital.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 11, at the Free Methodist Church in Coffeen. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the church, with Rev. Eugene Dunkley, Pastor of Free Methodist Church in Coffeen officiating. Burial will be atShiloh Cemetery in rural Coffeen. COVID-19 CDC guidelines with the use of masks and social distancing will be followed.

Mrs. Nowlan was born on Aug. 30, 1942, in rural Fillmore, to  Frank J. & Ida (Hill) Schwiering. She married Charles Nowlan on Sept. 17, 1961, at Fillmore Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Nowlan graduated from Nokomis High School with the class of 1960. She owned a daycare center for several years. Mrs. Nowlan was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Coffeen, the Mt. Moriah Ladies Aide, the Coffeen Senior Citizens Club and was the last living member of Happy Hour Circle. She loved quilting, especially quilting lap robes. 

Mrs. Nowlan is survived by her husband; children, Dennis (wife, Kim) Nowlan of Oak Forest and Dean (wife, Tina) Nowlan of Coffeen; grandchildren, Carrie Greenwood (significant other, Joseph Weller), Michael (wife, Michelle) Greenwood, Meagan Nowlan and Lucas Nowlan; and four great-grandchildren,Victoria, Veronica, Katelynn and Ronan.   

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters.
