Elsie Kahl, 93, of Litchfield, died on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at 9:05 p.m. at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Litchfield Family Funeral Service is assisting the family.
Mrs. Kahl was born July 18, 1926, in Island Grace-Sangamon County, to Ross and Leetha (Baker) Brown. She was the oldest of eleven children. She married Carl Gimlin, and they divorced. She later married Iva Titsworth, and he preceded her in death. She then married Henry Kahl, and he also preceded her in death.
She was a hard worker, starting her career at a young age as a waitress at Price Cafe in Litchfield. She then went on to work at Brown Shoe Factory and Roller Derby, both in Litchfield.
Mrs. Kahl was a member of Litchfield Christian Church and enjoyed cross-stitching and quilting when she was able.
She is survived by her son, Wayne Titsworth of Bowling Green, KY; son-in-law, William Currie of Litchfield; daughter-in-law, Lynn Titsworth of Murphysboro; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother; and four sisters.
In addition to her husbands, Mrs. Kahl was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dean Titsworth; daughter, Mary Currie; grandson, Gary Currie; four sisters; and one brother.
Memorials may be directed to Litchfield Christian Church.
