Esther E. (Brown) Washburn, 85, of Effingham, formerly of Ramsey, died on Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 8, from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Ramsey. Graveside services will follow, beginning at 11 a.m. at the cemetery with Pastor Harry Kirk officiating. Miller Funeral Home in Ramsey is assisting the family.
Mrs. Washburn was born Nov. 11, 1934, in Ramsey, to Asberry and Vina Belle (Rhodes) Brown. She married Gerald "Spud" Washburn, and he preceded her in death in 1993.
She was formerly employed in housekeeping at a nursing home in Missouri, and was affiliated with Liberty Church in rural Bingham.
Mrs. Washburn is survived by a daughter, Gail (Dave) Womack of Williamsburg, MO; grandchildren, Sheila Lidster of Nokomis, Sandy Meyers of Toledo, Kevin Eddy of Bingham, John Womack of Maine and Roger Womack of Missouri; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gerald "Jerry" Washburn, Jr.; daughter, Brenda Lawyer; brothers, Gerald, Victor, Asberry Jr., Eugene, Noah, Wilton and Esty Brown; sisters, Izola Green, Ruth Roos and Polly Washburn; and granddaughter, Kim (Brown) Eddy.
Memorials may be directed to Liberty Church in Bingham or Mt. Carmel Cemetery in rural Ramsey.
