Ethan Chestnut of Sorento has received his license to race professionally with the motocross industry, and will race in the first outdoor national this year at the Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, IN, on Saturday, July 18.
Based on the latest statewide policies surrounding sporting events in Indiana, the Ironman national will also take place in front of fans, per information provided in the recent “Back on Track” plan issued by Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb.
The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, features the world’s fastest professional motocross racers competing aboard state-of-the-art motorcycles on the roughest, toughest racetracks in the world.
Professional competition is divided into two classes, the 250 class for 150 to 250cc machines and the 450 class for 251 to 450cc machines.The race format for each class consists of two, 35-minute races “motos,” with the scores from each moto combined to determine the overall winner.
AMA Pro-Am Motocross events are open to both professionally licensed and A-class amateur motocross racers. These events allow amateurs to gain experience on America’s top motocross tracks and prepare for the fast-paced and long motos professional racing demands.
