Eunice I. Moore, 87, of Springfield, died Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at 4:11 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Private funeral services and burial will be held in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield. Butler Funeral Home in Springfield is assisting the family.

Mrs. Moore was born July 6, 1932, in Mission, TX, the daughter of Jacob and Mable (Eckroat) Rumery. She married Myron G. Moore on June 1, 1950, in Coffeen, and he preceded her in death on July 23, 2019.

A graduate of Coffeen High School, she was employed as a cook for several years at Calvary Church in Springfield. She worked as an assistant activity director at Springfield Manor.

She was a member of Calvary Church, where she sang in the choir and volunteered her time with nursing home and prison ministries. She and her husband were founding members of the Prop Club. She also participated in the Red Hat Society and volunteered at HSHS St. John’s Hospital.

Mrs. Moore is survived by two daughters, Tamara Moore and Charlene (James) Mathes, both of Springfield; two grandchildren, Eric (Machelle) Settles of Urbana and Michael Settles of Springfield; six great-grandchildren, Jonas, Elijiah, Isabella and Levi Settles, and Izik and Malachi Settles; and a sister, Yvonne Edwards of San Antonio, TX.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Myron Kyle Moore; daughter, Brenda Moore; and two sisters, Rosemarie Horn and Jackie Partlow.
