Evelyn Ione (Hill) Sikes, 92, of Morrisonville, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019, at 2:08 p.m. in her home.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 23, at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Dayle Badman officiating. Burial was held in Morrisonville Cemetery.
Mrs. Sikes was born Sept. 1, 1927, in Morrisonville, the daughter of Okal and Catherine (Fredrich) Hill. She married Raybern Sikes on July 18, 1946, in Morrisonville, and he preceded her in death.
An auxiliary member of the Morrisonville American Legion Leslie-Reddick Post 721, she was a trustee for the Morrisonville City Board.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Hawkins of Taylorville, Bonnie Borgic of Redding, CA, Barb Dautel of Morrisonville and Tamara Lowis of Morrisonville; grandchildren, Steven Borgic of Largo Vista, TX, Andrew Borgic of Redondo Beach, CA, Jesse Dautel of DuQuoin, Jenna Apps of Spanish Fort, AL, Jacob Dautel of Palmer, Adam Lowis of Taylorville, John Lowis of Morrisonville, Amy Skebe of Springfield, Scott Weitekamp of Springfield and Joe Weitekamp of Taylorville; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Frisiana; grandson, Todd Hawkins; and sisters, Dorothy Colbrook and Darlene Blount.
