Evelyn Ruth Weber, 90, of Litchfield, died on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, at 7:56 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Charles, MO.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Jan. 9, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 10 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Fred Kraemer officiating. Committal Service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Wine Hill Cemetery. Due to CDC guidelines, social distancing and masks will be required. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is assisting the family.

Mrs. Weber was born Aug. 20, 1930, in Litchfield, to Herman August and Mary Tina (Veit) Gruber. She married the Rev. Dwight Ortwin Weber on July 1, 1962, at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 1999.

She graduated from Litchfield High School with the class of 1948. She went on to become a housewife and also worked for the Litchfield Creamery Co./Milnot for 14 years.

Mrs. Weber’s service and ministry as a pastor’s wife took her to the following churches and communities, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lewistown, MT, from 1964 to 1966; Our Savior Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, from 1966 to 1973; and dual parish of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Steeleville and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill, from 1973 to 1995.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, Lutherans Women’s Missionary League, Ladies Aid, Faith Bible Class and Phi Zigma Nu Sorority. She enjoyed reading, solving word puzzles, quilting with Zion Quilters for World Relief and playing Pinochle.

Mrs. Weber is survived by her sons, the Rev. Paul (Heather) Weber of Moline and Eric (Kendra) Weber of Ft. Worth, TX; daughters, Esther (Ray) Loeffler of St. Charles, MO, and Joyce  Nikkila of Seminole, TX; 11 grandchildren, Nick (Kelly) Loeffler, Kim Loeffler, Zakary Nikkila, Paxton Nikkila, Zane Nikkila, Rebekah Weber, Leah Weber, Suzannah Weber, Nathanael Weber, Audrey Weber and Emily Weber; and one great-granddaughter, Parker Nikkila.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy Gruber; brother, Russell Gruber; and son-in-law, Eric Nikkila.
