Everett E. “Gene” Shreve 83, of Litchfield died on Sept. 1, 2023, in St. Louis.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Shreve was born in Litchfield on Sept. 26, 1939, to Everett E. and Marie (Hopper) Shreve. He lived his entire life in Litchfield and Hillsboro. He worked at Olin Corporation in Alton.
He is survived by his companion of many years, Alice Ogden; two children, son Stanley (Brenda) Shreve and daughter Melissa Hale; sister, Susan Shreve and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Alicia Shreve, siblings Jane, David, Gary and Bill; and two half-brothers, Glenn and Lon.
