Everett H. "Duke" Johnson, 86, of Pana, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2019, in Witt.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Witt Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Nokomis Waples-Bauer Legion Post #94.
Mr. Johnson was born July 8, 1933, in Hammond, IN, the son of Everett Harold and Margueritte L. (Huber) Johnson. He married Jacquelyn Read on July 3, 1954, and she preceded him in death on April 6, 1982. He then married Laura Reed on Oct. 26, 1987, and she preceded him in death in 2012.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his children, Debbie Rhodes of Nokomis, Terri (William) Plopper of Harristown, Laura Dietsch of Champaign, Penny Johnson of LaSalle, Harold "Duke" Johnson (Shelly Taylor) of Waxahachie, TX, Jackie Johnson of McKinney, TX, Connie (Troy) Moen of Cresson, TX and Cory Johnson of Chicago; stepchildren, Dawn Simonton and Danny Robinson; 30 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and two wives, he was preceded in death by stepsons, John and Randy Simonton.
Memorials may be made to the Witt United Methodist Church.
