It was a productive weekend for the Everett Racing crew, even if their plans were changed by Mother Nature.
Bristol and Bodee Everett were planing to race at the Metro St. Louis Quarter Midget Racing Association point series event on Aug. 8, but rain had other plans for the Litchfield siblings.
Fortunately they didn’t have to wait long to get on the track as the weather cooperated and they raced in the point series race at the Christian County Quarter Midget Association race on Aug. 9, in Taylorville.
Bodee Everett would race in three divisions and picked up a feature win in the animal division. Qualifying first overall, Everett beat out nine other drivers to take the checkered flag.
In the light 160 division, Everett worked his way up to second from the sixth qualifying spot before being spun out and taking seventh overall. He would also score a top five finish in the light world formula division, coming in fifth after qualifying sixth.
Older sister Bristol Everett would run in the heavy world formula division and finished second after qualifying second in the top division.
The Everetts were also recipients of some good will from their racing family according to Bristol and Bodee’s dad, Mike.
“I just want to thank everybody that helped get Bodee’s car back on the race track Sunday after his right front wheel fell off,” Everett said via Facebook. “I ran to get parts and they already had parts to go back on. I’m truly blessed to have friends that run to help at the drop of a hat. I’m truly grateful.”
