A first half goal by junior Luke Neath was enough for the Metro-East Lutheran Knights to defeat Lincolnwood on Monday, Sept. 9, in Edwardsville.
Neath's goal came on a penalty kick, which he converted to make it 1-0. That would be enough to hand the Lancers their third loss of the year as Lincolnwood dropped to 4-3-2
The Lancers were outshot 10-7 in the game, with Austin Gwinn stopping nine shots for Lincolnwood and Erik Broekemeier posting five saves for Metro-East Lutheran, including a penalty kick. Owen Peterson also played in goal for the Knights, making one save.
Lincolnwood will have a brief break until their next game, which will be at Terry Todt Field in Raymond on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m. against Pleasant Plains.
