Florence Marie Collmann, 81, of Litchfield, formerly of Sorento, died on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Litchfield Health and Rehab Center.
Funeral services for Ms. Collmann will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 4, at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield. The Rev. Fred Kraemer of Zion Lutheran Church will be officiating. Bural will be in Edgewood Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield.
Mrs. Collmann was born in Litchfield on Oct. 18, 1942, a daughter of Fred Henry and Kathryn Lucille (Wood) Klekamp. She attended Hickory Grove School, Zion Lutheran School and Litchfield High School, graduating from the latter with the class of 1960. She married LaMoine Collmann on Sept. 29, 1961, at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield. They resided in Sorento and later divorced.
Ms. Collmann worked briefly at Brown Shoe Company in Litchfield, and was a dedicated employee of Basler Electric in Highland for 47.5 years. Always active, she was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, Hickory Grove Community Club, Mt. Olive ATA Auxiliary, the Senior Citizens groups of Litchfield, Highland and Grantfork, and enjoyed playing in area Euchre groups in Panama, Highland, St. Rose, Breese, and Bartelso.
She greatly enjoyed dancing, and enjoyed doing so in Highland, Witt, St. Rose, Breese, Germantown, Vandalia, Hillsboro and Mt. Olive. As a lover of the outdoors, you could find her working in her garden, growing delicious produce to be canned, milking cows and mowing. She enjoyed trail rides and camping.
Ms. Collmann is survived by her daughter, Donna Jean (Wayne “Digger” Davis) Collmann of Litchfield; three grandchildren, Ross E. (Brandi) Wilson, III, Jamie (Josh) Jones and John R. (Katie) Wilson; seven great-grandchildren, Paitynn Wilson, Gunnar Wilson, Reini Morgan, Remi Bell, Harper Jones, Brodi Jones and Hailey Wilson; two sisters, Vera Mae Whitsell and Mary Kathryn Towell, both of Litchfield; and several nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents, Ms. Collman was preceded in death by a sister, Alma Peterson.
The family requests memorials to Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, or to St. Jude Honors (Florence Collmann memorial).
