Frances I. Porter Hanauer, 93, of Hillsboro, died on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020, at 1:38 p.m. at her residence.

Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, Dec. 30, beginning at 12 p.m. at Cress Hill Cemetery in Hillsboro with the Rev. Ralph Ward of Hillsboro officiating. Family and friends will meet at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro at 11:30 a.m. to process to the cemetery.

Mrs. Porter Hanauer was born June 3, 1927, in Shelbyville, to Frank Yantis and Cora (Martz) Yantis Ward. She married William Porter on July 31, 1949, in Hillsboro, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 1991. She then married Lyle G. Hanauer, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 2019.

She graduated from Shelbyville High School with the class of 1945. During her career, she worked at International Paper in Litchfield, later retiring from CPC Rexel in Litchfield.

Mrs. Porter Hanauer is survived by her daughter, Sandra (husband Timothy) Hand; stepdaughter, Nancy (husband Chris) Murtaugh; three grandchildren, Matthew (wife Kristen) Porter, Michelle (husband Gene) McConnell and Zac (wife Tracy) Hand; two stepgrandchildren, Jason Murtaugh and Alison M. (husband Sean) LaFortune; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; and stepgrandson, Colin Murtaugh.

Memorials may be directed to Hillsboro Area Hospital.
