Frances Joan Hopley, 86, of Hillsboro died at 7:11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, 2019, at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 27, at Waveland Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro, beginning at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Randy Sands of the Hillsboro Free Methodist Church officiating. Cremation rites were accorded and burial will be at Waveland Cemetery in Hillsboro.

Mrs. Hopley was born on Sept. 4, 1932, in Hillsboro to the late Sharon E. and Mary Katrina (Newport) Green. She married Bernard "Barney" Hopley on Sept. 4, 1950, at Waveland Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro, and he preceded her in death on May 14, 2000.

Mrs. Hopley attended Hillsboro High School, and during her lifetime, she lived in Hillsboro, Homestead, FL and Witt. 

She had her own upholstery business and also worked as an environmental science manager at CHI in Homestead, FL. Among her hobbies, Mrs. Hopley loved to recover furniture and listen to old gospel music. She lived for her family and loved spending time with them.

Mrs. Hopley is survived by her children, Vern (wife Barbara) Hopley of Irving, Paul (wife Vita) Hopley of Nokomis and Rebecca (wife Kat) Hopley-Jackson of Springfield, MO; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Sharon K. Green of Naples, FL, Camilla Reimer of Springfield and Virginia Robbins of Bloomington, CA.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Hopley was preceded in death by three sons, one in infancy, Bruce Hopley on Sept. 18, 2006, and Earl Hopley on March 15, 2018; one grandson, John Lee Hopley in infancy; two granddaughters, Katrina M. Hopley in infancy and Jennifer Hopley on Dec. 25. 2016; and one sister, Betty Millikin.

Memorials may be made to the American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association.
