Frances M. Kelmel-Frost, 90

Frances Marie Kelmel-Frost, 90, of Taylorville, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019, at 7:38 a.m. at Taylorville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 9, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Shafer-Perfetti and Assalley Funeral Home in Taylorville. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Taylorville.

Mrs. Frost was born Nov. 20, 1928, in Hillsboro, the daughter of Clarence Cecil and Beatrice (Lange) Oakley. She married Harold W. "Shorty" Kelmel in 1951, and they later divorced. She then married Robert Gene Frost, and he preceded her in death on March 7, 2001.

A devoted homemaker, nothing made her happier than when her entire family was together. She enjoyed cooking for them, and crocheting many different things  for them. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and listening to country music on the radio.

A longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylorville, she was a member of the National Catholic Society of Foresters in Morrisonville.

She is survived by her children, Philip (Susie) Kelmel of Morrisonville, Ann (Bob) Nation of Stonington, Susan (Kevin) Moomey of Morrisonville, James (Sharon) Kelmel of Morrisonville and Bill (Dwanna) Kelmel of Taylorville; grandchildren, Chris (Tina) Kelmel, Derek Kelmel, Sandra (Chuck) Miller, Shelly (Duane) White, John (Carmen) Nation, Vince (Andrea) Schwab, Adam (Wendy) Schwab, Patrick Moomey, Cody (Lindsay) Moomey, Heather Moomey, Nickie (Dale) Wix, Rachel (Jeff) Bethard, Chrissy (Brad) Tellor and Lindsay (Rob) Skinner; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Laney, Nolan, Brooklyn, Phoenix, Spencer, Montgomery, Kayden, Rhianna, Jazmyn, Izzabelle, Benjamin, Chase, Hallie, Stella, Leah, Shayna, Ryann, Lily, Alexzia, Layla, Benson, Arlo, Addie, Zac, Kim, Ashton, Logan, Clayton, Justice, Bryeson, Chase, Mason and Madison; great-great-grandson, Knox; sister, Ruth Hefley of Hilslboro; best friend, Barbara McKinnon of Taylorville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughter, Brenda Kelmel; sons, Lawrence and David Kelmel; grandson, Philip Schwab; brothers, James and Russell Oakley; and sisters, Edna Slightom, Kathryn Schommer, Virginia Fleigle, Margaret Boyd and Jacquelyn Oakley.
