It's been a long year for Litchfield grad Victoria Francis, but her patience paid off on Saturday, June 8. Francis defeated Alyvia Fiske 7-2 and by fall at the 3:30 mark at Final X Rutgers to earn the opportunity to represent her country against the best of the best.
Final X brings together the country's top men's and women's freestyle wrestlers, along with the top Greco-Roman wrestlers, for a best-of-three series that determines spots on the U.S. senior world team.
Francis and the other winners from the Final X competitions at Rutgers and Lincoln, NE, move on to wrestle in the World Wrestling Championships in Nursultan, Kazakhstan on Sept. 14-22. For more, go to www.facebook.com/victoriafrancisweisswrestling.
