Frank Frederick Jorn, 85, of Hillsboro, died on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at 1:35 p.m. at his residence.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 3, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Memorial Mass will be conducted Tuesday, April 4, beginning at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro with Father Daniel Willenborg, pastor of that church, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Hillsboro.
Mr. Jorn was born April 5, 1937, in Hillsboro, to Frank A. and Freda (Boas) Jorn. He married Margaret Reynolds on June 21, 1958, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, and she survives.
A lifelong Hillsboro resident, he graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1955. After high school, he took several art classes and served in the National Guard.
During his career, Mr. Jorn served as a painter for the Illinois Department of Corrections at Graham Correctional Center in Hillsboro. He also owned his own sign shop, Jorn Sign Company, in Hillsboro.
He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, Knights of Columbus in Hillsboro, Moose Club #1377 in Hillsboro and Painters Union Local #910, where he served as a secretary for 20 years. He enjoyed wood working and loved watching birds and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Jorn is survived by his children, Rebecca (husband Rob) Meyer and Randy (wife Darla) Jorn, both of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Travis (wife Hollie) Jorn Lipe of Springfield, Tyler (wife Jennifer) Jorn Lipe of Hoover, AL, Tony (wife Ashley) Christ and Brian (companion Caley) Christ, both of Hillsboro, Ashley Jorn of Chicago and Andrew (wife Morgan) Jorn of St. Louis, MO; great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Khloei, Brylei, Jayden and Lucas; and brother, Kenneth (wife Carol) Jorn of Hillsboro.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Rodney Frank Jorn.
