Gary Albert Lott, 77, of Farmersville, died Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at his home.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 29, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Raymond Christian Church. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 10 a.m. at the church. Hough Funeral Home in Farmersville is assisting the family.

Mr. Lott was born Dec. 23, 1941, in Carlinville, to Lloyd Laverne and Irma Margaret (Taylor) Lott. He married Judith Ellen Polston in Atwater on June 9, 1961, and she survives.

A member of the Raymond Christian Church, he was a family man and the Bois D' Arc Township trustee. He enjoyed building hot rods and drag racing, having raced with the likes of Don Garlits, Chris Karamesines and many others in the early days at Alton, Springfield, Assumption, and a number of other area tracks. He was very knowledgeable when it came to motors and mechanics.

The founder of Alcomotive, Inc., he developed a gas-to-alcohol carburetor kit that even caught the attention of GM. He had worked as a truck driver for area trucking companies and also as a diesel mechanic for Warners.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Shelly Lott of Farmersville; two sons, Brad (Stacy) Lott of Chatham and Terry (Kristin) Lott of Raymond; grandchildren, Elizabeth Binder, Haley Lott, Emily Cunningham, Mason Lott, Katie Washichek, Jordan Lott and Sarah Lott; and great grandchild, Nash Binder and one on the way.

He was preceded in death by a brother.
